Types of Matrices

Here we will be learning the different types of Matrices.

Column Matrix

A column matrix is a matrix having a single column is called a column matrix.

Example:

$A={\begin{bmatrix}-1\\2\\5\end{bmatrix}}$

Here $A$ is a column matrix of order $4\ X\ 1$

In general, $A={\begin{bmatrix}a_{ij}\end{bmatrix}}_{m\times 1}$is a column matrix of order $m\ X\ 1$

Square matrix

A Square matrix is a matrix having equal number of rows and columns

Example:

$B={\begin{bmatrix}1&2&3\\4&5&6\\7&8&9\end{bmatrix}}$

Here $B$ is a square matrix of order $3$

In general, $B={\begin{bmatrix}a_{ij}\end{bmatrix}}_{m\times m}$is a square matrix of order $m$
