Terms of Polynomial
In Mathematics, a polynomial is defined as an algebraic expression which consists of variables, coefficients, and mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication or division.
Terms of Polynomial
A polynomial is an algebraic expression which has two or more algebraic terms. It has variables, constants, coefficients, exponents and operators.
For example
Variable: An alphabet which is used to represent the unknown value. Here is a variable.
Coefficient: A number which is multiplied with the variable. Here is a coefficient
Operator: Operator may be either addition (+), subtraction (-), multiplication (*), etc.. Here is an operator
Constant: Term which does not change. Here is a constant.
Exponent (degree) : An exponent refers to the number of times a number is multiplied by itself. Here is the exponent (degree)
Example:
Variable | Coefficient | Operator | Constant | Exponent (degree) |
---|---|---|---|---|
