γ-हाइड्रोक्सीवेलेरिक एसिड (जीएचवी), जिसे 4-मिथाइल-जीएचबी के रूप में भी जाना जाता है, γ-हाइड्रॉक्सीब्यूट्रिक एसिड (जीएचबी) से संबंधित एक डिजाइनर दवा है। इसे कभी-कभी ग्रे मार्केट में जीएचबी के कानूनी विकल्प के रूप में देखा जाता है, लेकिन कम क्षमता और उच्च विषाक्तता के साथ,[2] ऐसी संपत्तियाँ जो इसके मनोरंजक उपयोग को सीमित करती हैं।[3] γ-वेलेरोलैक्टोन (जीवीएल) जीएचवी के लिए एक ठंडा के रूप में कार्य करता है, उसी प्रकार जैसे γ-ब्यूटिरोलैक्टोन (जीबीएल) जीएचबी के लिए एक प्रोड्रग है।[4]
