स्व-बूटिंग डिस्क घरेलू कंप्यूटरों के लिए एक फ्लॉपी डिस्क है जो ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम को बायपास करते हुए सिस्टम चालू होने पर सीधे एक स्टैंडअलोन एप्लिकेशन में लोड या बूटिंग करता है। 1970 के दशक के अंत से 1990 के दशक के प्रारंभ तक कुछ कंप्यूटरों पर यह सामान्य, यहाँ तक कि मानक था। वीडियो गेम इस तकनीक का उपयोग करके सबसे अधिक वितरित किए जाने वाले एप्लिकेशन के प्रकार थे।
